Yuhan Sohrab-Dinshaw Vevaina joins our department as the Yarshater Assistant Professor of Avestan and Pahlavi Languages and Cultures. He received his M.A. in 2003 and his Ph.D. in 2007 from the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University. He then served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Undergraduate Core Curriculum and as the Lecturer on Old Iranian at Harvard University from 2007–2009. He was a Fellow of the National Endowment for the Humanities, USA in 2010. He was a Lecturer in the Department of Religious Studies at Stanford University from 2011–2016. He is completing a book on Zoroastrian scriptural interpretation in Late Antiquity, and he is a co-editor of The Wiley Blackwell Companion to Zoroastrianism.
