The NMC undergraduate programs offer an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the civilizations and cultures of the Near and Middle East, from the Neolithic period to the present. Students may choose to focus on a specific period—ancient, medieval, or modern—or pursue a general stream that spans multiple eras.
The program provides flexible pathways, allowing students to complete a Specialist, Major, or Minor according to their academic interests. NMC offerings include language and literature courses (NML) alongside courses in culture and civilization courses (NMC), providing students with a well-rounded understanding of the region in its many dimensions.
