The Global Languages Initiative (GLI) is pleased to invite you to an upcoming Career Panel Talk on February 7, 2025.
This event will feature three distinguished speakers who will share how their language studies have shaped their professional paths and contributed to their success in various fields.
Our panelists include:
- Carla DeSantis, MA in Classics, PhD in Medieval Studies, and owner of a freelance editorial business specializing in translation and language-based services.
- Tony He, Lecturer at UTM, with a B.A. in Philosophy and an M.A. in Translation and Localization Management. He is also a Certified Translator (Chinese to English) accredited by the Society of Translators and Interpreters of British Columbia (STIBC) and the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Ontario (ATIO).
- Stuart Jones, Program Assistant at the Atlantic Council's Europe Center and a recent UofT graduate with a B.A. in European Studies and International Relations, and a Minor in German Studies.
Each speaker will explore how learning foreign languages and engaging with diverse cultures have been integral to their successful careers. This event presents a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the real-world benefits of language skills.
